Yahoo Push Sucks Ass.

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Push E-mail is supposed to be instant – as soon as I receive an e-mail in my inbox, I should get an alert on my phone. However, Yahoo’s service sucks ass – it doesn’t notify you as soon as you get an e-mail. I have a GMail account being checked every hour, and sometimes I receive e-mails on that quicker than I do on Yahoo (I forward all my GMail stuff to the Yahoo account just for the push feature, because I was under the impression that I would know instantly when I get an e-mail). I can’t wait til GMail comes out with Push, if ever.

iPod Touch Home Button Issue

Friday, September 5th, 2008

A few months ago I purchased an iPod touch from a local retailer. The three month exchange period from the retailer expired last month, and right around that time I started having an issue with the home button on my iTouch. The best way I can describe this is that the button seems to be recessed into the device itself. When I click the home button on the iPod, it will read it like a single click sometimes, but like a double click more often (bringing up the music menu if I’m not already in the music application). The intended behavior of this button is a single click will lead you to the home screen, and a double click will bring you to the menu.

I called up Apple tech support and they shipped me out a box to send my iPod back in, and once they received it they claimed it had no problems. WTF? I press the button once and it brings up the music menu!! I tried restoring the device before calling tech support along with taking off the screen protector (in case the button got stuck on it) and neither of those worked. Now I’ve got an iPod on the way that has a faulty home button that Apple claims works properly. Great! Anyone else have this type of issue? I expected Apple to be better about this stuff.. I guess I was wrong.

Next Time, I’m Camping Out For A Week

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

Monday evening, as I was driving back from my Business and Digital Arts class, I decided to take 75 home instead of my usual route through Custer. While driving on 75, I saw the local Best Buy – and to my surprise, two tents sitting in front of the door. Now, I didn’t think much of it – I thought maybe they were getting some Wii’s in.

The next evening, however, the tents were still there – in fact there were a few more people out there and what seemed to be a line started to grow. At this point, I knew what it was – the line for the Black Friday sales. But seriously, these guys are starting 3-4 days early? Don’t you guys have family to have dinner with on Thanksgiving, or are you camping out with them in front of a store to save $5 on that mousepad you could have bought at the dollar store?

Some people don’t make sense to me.. like these guys (and girls). I mean seriously, you’re going to suffer for 3-4 days in the cold, missing school, work, and any other things you could have done… for a measly discount. People these days…

E-mail From The Future? WTF?!

Friday, November 16th, 2007

I keep a Yahoo e-mail account for security purposes.. usually whenever I sign up on a forum to ask a question and know that I won’t be staying there long I will give out that address. So today I went to check to see if any legit e-mails had been sent to that address – when I checked my Bulk Mail folder, this is what I saw:

Spambox

Amazing! In the year 2038, when I’m 51 years old, I will be looking for a new car, some action, and auto insurance. Spectacular!

So Much Spam… So Little Time

Monday, November 5th, 2007

Everyday, I receive 4-8 spam comments on my entries. I’ve only had this blog for what, a few months now?? Damn spammers, nothing better to do but fill up blogs and other websites with useless advertising for their fraudulent products. Fuck them!

Clinging – The Most Annoying Thing In The World

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

I hate people who cling on to others or need constant approval from others. You jackasses, your umbilical cord was cut at birth for a reason, so you can learn to live life on your own. Sure you needed pampering the first 10 years or so, but holy shit stop clinging onto others and expecting approval. I have a friend who has this problem, and lately it has really been getting on my nerves – to the point where I want to end the friendship. This jackass won’t even try new things on his own, he will simply say “no man if you’re not trying it neither am I.” Fucking pansy. I’m glad you’re being shipped off to a faraway place soon, maybe you’ll come back with a fucking spine and some balls so you can try shit on your own. Oh wait, you’ll probably need the approval to grow them in the first place, so why bother.

Get Off The Road, Dumbass!

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

As I was filling up gas in my car today at one of the local Chevron gas stations, I noticed that something was different. It wasn’t a new shop, a change in gas prices, or a new cashier inside the gas station. It was the amount of stupid drivers on the road. In the 3 minute period it took to fill up my gas, I witnessed almost 4 different accidents. That’s right – 4. More than one a minute, within 200 feet of where I was standing.

People these days need to get off the road and go back to driving school. Why? No one knows how to drive anymore! I remember when I was a kid riding with my parents, I would hardly hear someone honking as a sign of aggravation. Usually it was just a “Hey, I’m trying to catch your attention for something” type of honk. Simply trying to tell them you can get in front of me to avoid that slow lane of traffic.

Today, in this relatively small suburb of Dallas called Plano, I hear at least 5-6 aggravated drivers honking.

I don’t have a problem with honking, its mainly a problem with dumb drivers on the road. Someone cuts off another guy and slams their brakes, and the person that was cut off has no option left except to swerve and hit the car beside it, or go the other way and wrap themselves around a telephone pole.

Next thing you know, people will be intentionally hitting people’s cars to get them off the road. The daily commute will become a destruction derby and a race to the death.

Personally speaking, there should be more cops on the road. Not to catch speeders (since I’m guilty of that every day :) ), but to catch stupid drivers that drive 25mph on the highway and change lanes to get in front of the car thats coming up the fastest. Or the idiots who pull out in front of you from picking up that Big Mac, super-sized fries and small diet coke from the nearby McDonald’s and are paying more attention to the food than the road.

These dumb drivers need a wake up call, and quick, before a lot of innocent people get hurt by their stupid tactics.
